The most beautiful thing I've seen was in eastern Montana. This shot reminds me of that view, of that feeling, of that moment in life set aside like frames on the floor of some cosmic editing room. Superb. Utterly fantastic.
I know what you mean, that Holodeck kind of feeling - like it's too real to be real so it just becomes surreal. I sometimes get the feeling that I'm in some grand studio when confronted by a vast landscape - especially if it's really still and quiet.
I'd love to se Montana. I'm planning to do a road trip across the states in a year or two - the mid-west looks like an ancient and humbling place, which is why I love the outback too.
